You’re not imagining it.

So many of us were taught to push through. Carry the load, ignore the ache, keep going in a body that never quite switches off, and slowly you stop trusting what it is trying to tell you. Over time that quietly adds up. The ache becomes background noise and poor sleep starts to feel normal, until worn out is just your everyday.

You were never meant to carry all of it on your own. You deserve to feel good in your body and to feel like yourself again. So we look at the whole picture, your spine, your nervous system and whatever sits underneath, and build care that fits your real, busy life. That is exactly what your first visit is for.

Who this is for

Care your whole family can trust.

Gentle, whole-person chiropractic care for your family, from the newest arrivals to the grandparents and every age in between.

Adults

I see your spine and nervous system as the control centre for how your whole body feels, moves and works, which is why they are worth looking after, not only when something hurts. People come to me with back pain, neck pain and headaches, but often carrying more than that too: overworked, tired, wired, like there is no off switch. Whatever you are carrying, physical or otherwise, I take the whole of you seriously.

Babies and children

Bringing a baby to a chiropractor makes a lot of parents nervous, and I completely understand. Care for little ones looks nothing like adult care. It's remarkably gentle, no firmer than the touch you'd use to check a ripe tomato, and always led by what feels right for you and your child. And as babies become toddlers, and children become teenagers, that same gentle, unhurried care grows with them through every stage.

Through pregnancy

A lot of people feel unsure about seeing a chiropractor while they're pregnant, but there's really no need to be. Pregnancy care is gentle and adapted to wherever you are, and it's all about helping you feel as comfortable and supported as possible while your body changes and makes room for your baby.

How I care for you

Applied Kinesiology

A gentle form of muscle testing that helps me listen to what your body is telling me. It gives me clues about where you are holding stress, whether physical, chemical or emotional, so we can look past the symptom to what is really going on.

Neuro Emotional Technique

A gentle technique that works with the mind-body connection. Stress and past experiences can show up in the body, so your care takes them in alongside the physical.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Gentle, precise adjustments to help your spine and joints move more freely. Yes, that can include the familiar ‘crack’, but there is a common misconception that an adjustment always involves one, and it really doesn’t. If that idea makes you nervous, I have plenty of gentle, low-force ways to work, always at a pressure that feels right for you.

Dr Lucy Lex, chiropractor on Sydney's Northern Beaches

Meet Dr Lucy

Hi, I’m Lucy.

Chiropractic has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was first adjusted as a baby, but it wasn’t until my teens, when I was dealing with stomach aches, sore knees and a tiredness I just couldn’t shake, that I really felt the difference it could make. That’s what set me on this path. I love helping people take charge of their own health and know, deep down, that they deserve to feel good in their bodies.

I hold a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and a Master of Chiropractic. Since then I have kept learning and going deeper, studying Applied Kinesiology and Neuro Emotional Technique, because I have never been interested in surface-level care. I look at health across the physical, chemical and emotional aspects, so I can understand your whole picture and the root cause, not just the symptom in front of us.

In 2024 I spent two weeks volunteering in India, providing chiropractic care in communities with very little access to it. Closer to home, I care for the whole family across the Northern Beaches, from little ones to grandparents, with a real soft spot for supporting women through every stage of life. When I am not practicing, you will find me chasing the sunrise, at the beach, or making the most of the outdoors with friends and family. More than anything, I want the people I look after to feel at home in their bodies and supported in living well.

In case you’re wondering

The things people often ask me.

Is it really free?

Yes. Your first visit is on us, with no cost and no obligation to book anything further. It is simply a calm way to be heard, have your whole picture looked at properly, and see whether I am the right fit for you.

What happens after the assessment?

If ongoing care would genuinely help, I will explain your options clearly and honestly, including what it involves and what it costs. If it would not, I will tell you that too. Either way there is no pressure, and the choice is always yours.

Will it hurt, and do you have to crack me?

My whole approach is gentle. There is a common misconception that a chiropractic adjustment means being cracked, but that is not always the case. I use plenty of other gentle, low-force options too, so if you don’t like the idea of being cracked, we simply won’t.

Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?

Caring for women through pregnancy is something I love. Your care is always gentle and shaped around exactly where your body is at, and I will always be honest about what will and won’t help. If you are ever unsure, you are welcome to get in touch and ask me anything before you decide.

Do you see babies, children and the whole family?

Absolutely, and you don’t need to be in pain to come and see me. Care isn’t only for when something hurts, it is also for anyone who simply wants to look after their body and feel their best. I care for all ages, from newborns through to grandparents, and care for little ones is always especially gentle and led by what feels right for you and your child.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly, and you do not need anything from your GP to come in.

How long does it take?

Around 40 unhurried minutes, so nothing about you gets missed.

Where are you, and is there parking?

I am at 102 King Street, Manly Vale, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. There is plenty of free street parking, and it is a short walk from the Manly Vale bus stops on Condamine Street.
